Conditions of Entry

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

These Conditions of Entry apply to all patrons and visitors entering or using this facility. Additional site-specific rules may apply for facilities other than pools (e.g. gyms).

By entering or using the facility, you agree to:

• comply with these Conditions of Entry;

• comply with all facility rules and signage; and

• follow any reasonable direction given by facility staff.

Facility staff may refuse entry or direct a person to leave the facility where reasonably necessary to ensure compliance with these Conditions of Entry or for health, safety or security reasons.

1. Please observe pool rules at all times and follow any reasonable instruction given by lifeguards & staff. Disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour and language are not permitted.

2. Children 5 years and under must be accompanied and closely supervised (within arm’s reach) by a person 18 years and over who is prepared to swim. Children 14 years and under are not permitted entry unless under the active supervision of a person 18 years or older.

3. Groups will not be permitted entry where the number of Guardian’s supervising a group of children ten (10) years and under exceeds the ratio of 1:4 or a ratio of 1:2 children five (5) years and under.

4. Parents, guardians and carers remain responsible for supervising children in their care. Lifeguard supervision does not replace this responsibility.

5. Access to any pool, activity, equipment or part of the facility may be restricted or temporarily closed because of:

a. an emergency;

b. maintenance or operational requirements;

c. adverse weather;

d. water-quality concerns;

e. capacity limits; or

f. a health or safety risk.

6. Abusive, disruptive, aggressive, intimidating, offensive or unlawful conduct is prohibited. A person engaging in such conduct may be refused entry or directed to leave the facility, and any such conduct may be reported to Queensland Police Service or another relevant authority.

7. This is a smoke-free facility (including all outdoor areas). Smoking and vaping (including e-cigarettes) are strictly prohibited throughout the facility and within 5 metres of the facility entry and boundary.

8. Alcohol and illegal substances must not be brought into or consumed at the facility. A person may be refused entry or directed to leave if facility staff reasonably consider that the person is affected by alcohol or another illicit substance.

9. Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times. Articles of clothing such as underwear or street wear is prohibited in the pools. Waterproof swim nappies must be worn by all infants who are not fully toilet trained.

10. Patrons must:

g. shower before entering the water;

h. wash their hands after using the toilet or changing a nappy;

i. avoid swallowing pool water; and

j. not enter the water if they have diarrhoea or have experienced diarrhoea within the previous 14 days.

11. Patrons must use change rooms, toilets and other amenities appropriately and respect the privacy, dignity and safety of others.

12. Animals are not permitted within the facility, except for:

a. b. an assistance animal accompanying a person with disability; or another animal expressly authorised by facility management. A person accompanied by an assistance animal must comply with any reasonable direction given by facility staff concerning the safe and hygienic management of the animal.

13. Video and still cameras, including mobile phone cameras, wearable cameras, action cameras and other camera-enabled or recording devices, must not be used in change rooms. Video recording, photography, or the capture of still images, including on devices such as smart glasses, is not permitted within these premises without prior consent.

14. Patrons are responsible for securing their personal belongings and are encouraged to not bring valuables into the facility or leave any valuables unattended.

15. Banned items are not permitted on the premises unless approved by staff. This includes but is not limited to: glass or glass containers, alcohol or illegal substances, weapons or sharp objects, large floatation devices, scooters, skateboards, bicycles & mermaid tails.

16. External commercial fast food and food delivery services are not permitted unless approved at the discretion of management.

17. Running, pushing, flips, dangerous pool entries, diving, jumping, eating/drinking in the water and ‘playing dead’ or hypoxic training is not permitted. Diving & other activities may be completed under the supervision of qualified centre staff for training purposes.

18. Only staff or approved contractors are permitted to conduct learn to swim, private swimming lessons, personal training and coaching sessions.

19. Aquatic activities involve inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury or drowning. Patrons must:

a. take reasonable care for their own health and safety and the health and safety of

b. c. others; consider whether an activity is appropriate for their health, swimming ability and experience; use the facility and its equipment only for their intended purpose; and follow facility rules, signage and reasonable directions given by facility staff.

20. Patrons should inform facility staff of any medical condition that may affect their ability to safely use the facility or require assistance in an emergency. Patrons participating in an organised activity or program must inform the relevant staff member of any medical condition that may affect their safe participation or require assistance in an emergency.
